AirTag helps you keep track of everyday items like keys, wallets, luggage, backpacks, and more using the Find My app. You can locate nearby items by playing a sound from the built-in speaker or simply asking Siri, for example, “Find my gym bag.”
With compatible iPhone models, Precision Finding provides step-by-step directional guidance to your AirTag. If your item is farther away, the global Find My network, made up of hundreds of millions of Apple devices, can assist in locating it securely and privately using encrypted, anonymous signals.

Compact Design with Effortless Setup

AirTag features a small, lightweight circular design crafted from polished stainless steel and is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. The integrated speaker helps you locate nearby items, while the removable back cover allows for quick battery replacement.
Setup is fast and intuitive—just bring AirTag close to your iPhone and it pairs instantly, similar to AirPods. You can assign AirTag to an item and choose a preset name like Keys or Jacket, or create a custom name.

Complete and Intelligent Finding Experience

Once paired, AirTag appears in the Items tab of the Find My app, where you can view its current or most recent location on a map. If the item is within Bluetooth range, you can trigger a sound to help locate it. Siri can also assist by activating the sound hands-free.
AirTag includes Apple’s U1 Ultra Wideband chip, enabling Precision Finding on supported iPhones. This technology delivers accurate distance and directional guidance. As you move, your iPhone combines input from the camera, ARKit, accelerometer, and gyroscope to guide you using visual cues, sound, and haptic feedback.

Precision Finding & Lost Mode Support

When an AirTag is out of Bluetooth range, the Find My network can help locate it. Nearby Apple devices detect the AirTag’s signal and relay its location to you in the background—completely anonymous and encrypted.
You can also enable Lost Mode to receive notifications when your AirTag is found. If someone discovers your AirTag, they can tap it with an iPhone or any NFC-enabled device to view a webpage showing your contact number, if you’ve chosen to share one.

Privacy and Security Built In

AirTag is designed with privacy as a priority. Location data and history are never stored on the device, and all communication through the Find My network is end-to-end encrypted. Only the owner can access the AirTag’s location—no one else, including Apple, can see this information.
